Did You Guys Know I Could Time Travel?

To celebrate my dad's 57th birthday this week, I decided to time travel back to 1995 and surprise my parents with tidings from the future.

I arrived at the little blue house on Clarke Ridge Road at 11:00 AM, allowing plenty of time before seven-year-old me would get home from school.

They looked so young, as though my childhood photos had come to life.

Perhaps I had revealed too much.

  1. I see you didn't feel it necessary to mention to your parents your super awesome husband. We'll have to chat about this...

    Also the carpet was hideous.

  3. Haley-I know it's late notice...but will you write a guest post for my blog, or have you already been destined to someone else? I want you to write one about what you think your life will be like when you have kids. I think it would be reallly funny and cute. LMK. IRDWTKASAP.

  4. I was unaware that you could time travel! maybe instead of chatting with your parents about the job situation, you could have brought them something a little more concrete, like the winning lotto numbers so that they could at least pay one of your student loans off. Next time you time travel, try to remember this. Oh, and next time you time travel, could you get me a Tab soda and some Pop Rocks? and maybe a troll and a pet rock.......

  6. I saw someone eXactly like you at the c-store getting a carbonated beverage yesterday and by eXactly you I mean your cartooned carbonated you getting into a car. But now I realize a cartooned carbonated you in a car probably wouldn't need an eXtra form of transportation if you were already time traveling to an eXact location.

  10. How true. It is tough for us starving writers. Maybe one day our parents will understand.
